MEDIUM CARBON FERRO SILICO MANGANESE

Medium Carbon Ferro Silico Manganese is a lumpy material with a silvery, metallic appearance, is an alloy of manganese, silicon and iron with less Carbon content.

  • It is mainly used in stainless steel production of 200 series.
  • During decarburization, the use of medium – carbon silico manganese instead of high-carbon ferro manganese, result in productivity improvements of 4-6%. it reduces the amount of oxidized manganese, and therefore the amount of silicon required. Eventually.
  • It improves life span of the furnace lining due to the use of a less fluid slag.
